Study Technology and Winning Students

All students deserve a full chance to really win at being students. In fact, all students can be winners. When children have trouble in their education, it is because of an incomplete know-how on the part of teachers—and even on the part of the children themselves—about how to teach, how to study and how to actually learn.

In study, as in all fields, it is know-how that differentiates successful ventures from unsuccessful ones. At Delphi, this know-how is referred to as Study Technology (Study Tech). It was developed by American author and educator L. Ron Hubbard to help students be able to truly understand what they study.

Study Technology and Teachers

Ask any teacher—the most fulfilling points in his or her career will be times when students virtually exploded with interest and thirst for knowledge and succeeded in soaking up that knowledge and doing something with it. The only reason this doesn't happen all the time is that students run into "difficulties" and bog down in their studies and eventually "lose interest." Good teachers on their own can help some of these students, but with the full range of Study Technology among their tools, they can keep all their students polished up and winning.

A teacher that knows how to remedy any student's "droop" is a teacher that can keep the fire of childhood interest alive and growing in his or her whole class. It is that fire in a student—tearing through his studies, consuming whole zones of new subjects and abilities—that brings pleasure to a teacher and long-term success to a student.

Study Tech and Students

Young students benefit from a classroom environment where a teacher, knowledgeable about Study Tech, helps them know why they are studying something, lets them learn about it for themselves, and feeds their natural interest in learning new things.

As a student moves up the school levels, there is a doubled benefit—he learns about Study Technology from his side of the learning equation. How can he get learning obstacles out of his way? How can he quickly get something he wants to know and be able to use it for himself?

As he gains more and more knowledge of Study Tech, a student can take more and more responsibility to keep himself flying along in his studies. Add to that a teacher who is also trained in the Study Technology helping him or her through the tough spots and supplying extra challenge along the way, and it becomes a pretty remarkable team—a truly winning team.

All students should be winning students—and can be.
