Academics

Summer is a great chance for students to sharpen up their study skills, brush up on subjects like reading or math, advance themselves in existing studies or explore new interests.

Younger students can take advantage of our early-reading program offered during the summer. In fact, some of our children have learned to read for the very first time during their Summer Session at Delphi. Academic classes are held daily, and students can choose from a wide variety of courses. Our summer students also have the benefit of working with our experienced, year-round faculty, who are an important part of the summer academic program.

Study Skills

Each new elementary and middle school camper is given a course at his or her level on how to study and how to overcome the barriers to study. It is generally the first thing on the student's program because it provides the student with tools required to tackle the rest of his or her academic program.

Courses

Many of the courses that are available during the regular school year are also available in the summer. Some of the most popular include How to Dissect, Yogurt Making, Basic First Aid & Emergency, Microscopes & Microbes, Typing, Learning How to Learn and Whittling. There are also classes specific to the Summer Camp program. Classes like photography, rocketry, pottery, sports and drama, among others.
